HCL Technologies, a multinational technology company which has been working with British bank Barclays for past four years, plans to expand its operations in the Nordic and other European countries, Rahul Singh, president of financial services sales at HCL Technologies, says after Barclays announced its plans on Tuesday to close its operation center in Vilnius and move 460 jobs to HCL Technologies, citing LETA/BNS.

According to Singh, the company plans to grow and expand in the Nordic countries and other European countries which are fast-growth market for the company.

"We have been growing double-digit for the past seven years and we've done that faster than other market participants. In terms of our commitments to this geographical area and people working here, I believe we'll continue growing. (…) Lithuania is very important for the implementation of this vision, taking into account the fact that it has the necessary talents, easy access to the Nordic region, you are in the right time zone, you have people who create systems, and all of that matches the needs of our clients," Singh told the Verslo Zinios business daily.

In his words, the company has no plans to slow down in this region.

"We are ready to use the potential of the Vilnius center and grow it to satisfy our client's needs, just as we've grown other centers in this region," Singh said.

Mariano Andrade Gonzalez, country manager at the Barclays Group Operations Lithuania, told on Tuesday, under the contract with HCL Technologies, staff of Barclay's IT service center, the global technology infrastructure center and those providing IT mainframe services will be able to move to HCL Technologies under the same or similar employment conditions.
