Riga Airport sees passenger growth 18.5% in January-April
In March, passenger turnover increased by 16.3% when compared to the same period last year to 569,583 people.
During the first four months of 2018, the airport handled 24,752 flights, up 16.2% against January-April 2017. In April, the number of flights rose 16.7% year-on-year to 6,905.
Cargo turnover at the airport grew 62.6% year-on-year to 10,181 tons reloaded in the first four months of this year. This included 2,249 tons handled in April, up 45.5% against the same period a year ago.
In the first four months of 2017, at Riga International Airport received 1.623 million air passengers, as well as handled 21,301 flights and 6,263 tons of cargo.
In the full 2017, Riga Airport handled 74,837 flights and reloaded 25,525 tons of cargo.
Riga is the largest air traffic hub in the Baltic states.
