Aerones drone wins Latvian-American Innovation Award

Print versionThe winner of the Latvian-American Innovation Award is the wind turbine maintenance drone Aerones, said Ieva Melngaile, the spokeswoman for the American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia (AmCham), cites LETA.

The runner-up is music learning app Solfeg.io.
The winner received EUR 10,000 Euro and the runner-up EUR 5,000. Both of them also received a special award, symbolizing creativity and innovation, and a certificate from US Ambassador to Latvia Nancy Bikoff Pettit.
The Baltic American Freedom Foundation (BAFF), the American Chamber of Commerce in Latvia (AmCham Latvia), and the U.S. Embassy in Riga, together with TechHub Riga and the Latvian Startup Association have established the Latvian-American Innovation Award To highlight and promote entrepreneurship, research-driven innovation, and closer economic ties between Latvia and the United States.
