Riga airport posts 8.3% rise in turnover in 2017

International Airport Riga in 2017 generated EUR 54.639 million in turnover, up 8.3% from 2017, while the company’s profit increased 9.7 times to EUR 3.487 million, writes LETA, according to Firmas.lv business database.
EUR 31.442 million or 57.5% of the turnover was revenue from aviation, while EUR 23.197 million or 43.5% came from other sources – mostly rent of premises and other properties, car park services, service of business customers.
In 2017, the airport served 75,000 aircraft, up 10% from 2016, 6.1 million passengers, up 13%, and 26,000 tons of cargo, up 29% year-on-year.
Riga airport is still the biggest aviation passenger and cargo center in the Baltic states, serving 48.8% of all passengers serves at the airports of the Baltic capitals.
In 2016, the airport generated EUR 50.447 million in turnover and earned EUR 358,450 in profit.
