Latvia-based carrier Primera Air will launch direct flights to Mallorca, Alicante and Malaga from its hubs in London and Birmingham next spring, LETA was told at the company.

Primera Air President and owner Andri Mar Ingolfsson said that the airline was encouraged to add these destinations to its portfolio by steady and high demand for the carrier’s flights to New York, Boston and Toronto from Birmingham and London, which Primera Air plans to start in April 2018.

Demand for our transatlantic flights to New York, Boston and Toronto from Birmingham and London is steady and high. It encouraged us to offer passengers new flights to the holiday destinations in Spain, said Ingolfsson.

Primera Air will be performing daily flights to Mallorca, Alicante and Malaga from London and Birmingham as of next spring, using Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 189 seats.

As reported, the Riga-based PrimeraAir has opened three new hubs in Europe and announced intercontinental flights to North America. The new hubs were opened in London, Paris and Birmingham in order to launch flights to New York and Boston in April 2018.

PrimeraAir was founded in 2004 in Iceland and initially operated charter flights for Scandinavian tour operators. In 2014 PrimeraAir moved their headquarters from Denmark to Latvia and expanded its operations with direct seat sales and a push into the low-cost air travel segment. PrimeraAir flies to more than 70 destinations using eight Boeing Next Generation aircraft. PrimeraAir is part of Primera Travel Group, which includes the leading travel agencies in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland.
