Latvian fuel sales rise 6.8% in H1

With 642,341 tons of oil products (fuel) sold in Latvia in the first half of 2017, fuel sales picked up 6.84% or 41,000 tons against the same period in 2016, reports LETA, according to the information from the Excise Goods Administration of the Latvian State Revenue Service.

The amount of fuel sold is retail trade rose 5.62% year-on-year.


Meanwhile, the amount of fuel sold in wholesale rose 9.19% and sales of marked fuel increased 15.6%. The amount of fuel used for own consumption and other purposes increased by 8.18%.


The amount of fuel sold in the six months of 2017 included 439,224 tons of diesel fuel, 82,730 tons of biogasoline and 40,584 tons of diesel fuel for farmers.


In terms of product categories, sales volumes increased 8.65% for diesel fuel, 30.48% for diesel fuel for farmers, 14.48% for fuel oil, 7.17% for petroleum, and 6.18% for fuel gas, and dropped by 12.09% for gasoline, 5.37% for LPG and 4.27% for biogasoline.


In the first half of this year, 447,640 tons of fuel were sold in retail trade, up 23,822 tons or 5.62% against the same period last year.


In 2016, fuel sales in Latvia grew 3.02% against a year before to 1.295 million tons. This amount included 894,271 million tons sold in retail trade, up 7.07% against 2015.
