In Q2, the volume of construction works in Lithuania grew to EUR 628.5 mln
Over the quarter, the volume of building construction decreased by 2.6%, that of construction of civil engineering structures – increased by 5.4% (unadjusted – increased by 30.5% and 2.8 times respectively).
In II quarter 2017, against the respective period of the previous year, the volume of construction works carried out, calendar adjusted, increased by 6.5% (unadjusted – by 5.8%). Against the same period of the last year, the volume of building construction increased by 5.7, of civil engineering structures – by 7.4% (unadjusted – by 5.9 and 5.7% respectively).
The share of construction of civil engineering structures accounted for 45% of all construction works carried out within the country (EUR 282.3 million), non-residential building construction – 36% (EUR 227.5 million), residential building construction – 19% (EUR 118.7 million).
In I half-year 2017, construction work carried out within the country amounted to EUR 989.2 million and, against I half-year 2016, both calendar adjusted and unadjusted, increased by 6.7%.

Concepts
Construction work carried out refers to the
value (VAT excluded) of all kinds of work carried out when building a new
structure, reconstructing, repairing (restoring) or demolishing a structure for
a customer (sale) or for own needs. It excludes the value of land and design
work.
