Wizz Air to launch flights from Riga to Israel's resort Eilat

Print versionHungarian low-costs carrier Wizz Air will launch flights from Riga to the Red Sea resort of Eilat in southern Israel as of October 31, 2017, LETA was told at the company.

Wizz Air has scheduled two
flights a week - on Tuesdays and Saturdays - between Riga International Airport
and Ovda Airport in Eilat. The carrier will operate the route during the winter
season.
In 2016, Wizz Air flew 476,200
passengers from Riga, up 0.7% against 2015. At present, Wizz Air has stationed
two aircraft in Riga and employs more than 70 crew, ensuring flights from the
Latvian capital to 13 destinations.
Wizz Air is the largest
low-fare airline in Central and Eastern Europe. Overall, the airline
transported a total of 23 million passengers last year, which is 19% more than
the previous year.
