Tallink carries record number of passengers in July
Finance director of Tallink Grupp
Veiko Haavapuu said that the
increase was led by the Estonia-Sweden and Latvia-Sweden routes. "We
brought to the Estonia-Sweden route a vessel, which is larger by a fifth than
the previous one, and as of the end of last year there are now two ships
operating the Latvia-Sweden route instead of the previous
one," Haavapuu said in a press release.
"The passenger numbers on the Finland-Sweden route remained the same
and the numbers on the Estonia-Finland route decreased as in addition to the
fast ferries, there is only one cruise ship operating the route, while it was
previously operated by two ships," Haavapuu said.
Most passengers were carried on the Estonia-Finland route, where the
passenger carriage decreased 5.2% on year to 627,013 passengers. The number of

but increased by 16.7% to 19,276 units on the Estonia-Finland route, by 11.6%
to 4,324 units on the Finland-Sweden route and by 147% to 1,096 units on the

company carried 1.188 and 1.164 million passengers, respectively.
