Estonia's Taxify applying for operating license in London

The Estonian ridesharing service Taxify is planning to expand to London this year and the company is applying for a license to be able to operate in UK's capital, writes LETA/BNS.

"It is still open, because at the moment we are in the process of applying for the license," Martin Villig, member of the management board of Taxify and the company's head of development, told. "If we get the license, we will at some point also consider opening."


Founded in Estonia in 2013, Taxify is a transport technology company, which develops a global mobile transport platform. The company currently operates in 25 cities in 18 different countries and mediates tens of millions of rides a year. A total of 2 mln euros of risk capital has been raised to finance the company, which according to that indicator is the world's most effectively operating mobile app in the field of transport.


Taxify employs 120 people and this year is planning to employ 30 more developers and 50 customer support specialist in Estonia.
