China's national railway company China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC) might be interested in large-scale projects of the European Union, which also includes Rail Baltic, head of the Chinese company's Baltic region Chai Changfeng said LETA/BNS.

"We are interested in developing major infrastructure projects," Changfeng told. When asked if he would also be interested in being a partner in building infrastructure for Rail Baltic, he said that CRCC "is interested in huge projects, and we have already negotiated with some potential partners, and welcome others too".

When asked  what kind of partners the company is seeking in Estonia, Changfeng said that "CRCC is major in infrastructure construction, so we'd like to seek the local or EU construction partner, but CRCC is a large and integrated group, we manufacture equipment too, so the trade business is also in the pipeline".

Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday organized a meeting between Estonian and Chinese companies. At the meeting Changfeng said that the company is mainly interested in construction projects of railways, roads, ports and general construction projects as well as partners engaged in that.

China Railway Construction Corporation Limited is a subsidiary of the CRCC group. CRCC is a Chinese state-owned railway company.
