Trinasolar, Chinese manufacturer of solar panels, is on the lookout for partners in Estonia to move on to the developing solar energy markets of eastern and central Europe, informed LETA/BNS.

Provided that the country offers a favorable investment environment, Trinasolar could consider setting up a manufacturing plant in Estonia to move on to the markets of eastern and central Europe, Colin Yang, brand manager for the Chinese manufacturer who took part in a meeting held at the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday, told.

"Being a global company, we have our manufacturing facilities not only in China but also elsewhere in the world. If the business environment is good for investment, localization of manufacture is possible and manufacturing in Estonia is one of the options. The overview of the local business environment offered by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry left us a very good impression," Yang said.

Since the company believes that eastern and central Europe are opening markets, they are on the lookout for local partners interested in their products. At the same time, the company is keen to work closely with local installers and producers of solar energy interested in developing full-scale projects in solar energy.

Trina Solar Ltd Co was established in 1997 and listed on the New York stock exchange in 2006. The cumulative capacity of the solar panels sold by it has exceeded 21 gigawatts and the company has a 10 percent market share in the global photocell market, being thus the biggest supplier of solar panels in the world.

Trinasolar has plants also in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Holland.
