The third CS300 jet arrived in Riga on April 1, 2017. The flight time was seven hours and 18 minutes and aircraft covered 6,400 kilometers non-stop between the Canadian and Latvian airports.
"The modernized airBaltic fleet will ensure growth of the carrier with at least 13 additional routes and 15 percent more tickets on sale in 2017," the airline said.
airBaltic currently uses CS300 aircraft on popular routes such as Amsterdam, Munich, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Tallinn, Barcelona, Rome and others.
This year airBaltic will receive five more CS300 aircraft, including one this weekend, and delivery of six airplanes is planned in each 2018 and 2019.
As reported, airBaltic has ordered 20 CS300 airplanes from the Canadian aircraft manufacturer Canadian Bombardier, and in the future plans to have only Bombardier aircraft on its fleet. The first CS300 aircraft was delivered to Riga in late November 2016.
Last year airBaltic earned a profit of EUR 1.2 mln which is several times less than the 2015 profit of EUR 19.5 mln. The profit reduction was due to investments in implementation of the company's business plan, Horizon 2021, and renewal of its fleet.
airBaltic serves over 60 destinations from its home base in Riga, Latvia.
