The Estonian bus operator Lux Express is about to start operating regular services within Russia, specifically the St. Petersburg-Moscow and St. Petersburg-Pskov routes, this summer, LETA/BNS writes accordgin to the Postimees.

"We are planning to get to Russian domestic routes still this summer," Lux Express CEO Hannes Saarpuu said. On the St. Petersburg-Moscow route a night bus would run once daily in either direction, whereas on the St. Petersburg-Pskov service there would be several departures per day.

"We have got the line permits," the manager of Lux Express said, adding that a few technicalities still remain to be solved. "We are now working with getting things going by the summer in mind," he said.

The company would run the two routes via its Russian subsidiary. "In a sense this is test for us too, which is why we aren't eager to bet our arm or a foot on this," he said.

Saarpuu added that as regards his person, he will not continue as CEO of Lux Ekspress beyond Sept. 1.

"I have managed a very rapidly changing and growing business in a dynamic and highly competitive environment for more than ten years now," Saarpuu said, adding that he needs to take some rest.
