Klaipeda continues to lag behind Riga in terms of container traffic, the Lithuanian seaport's authority said on Friday.
Klaipeda handled 71,700 TEUs during the first two months of
2017, up 12.5 % from 63,800 TEUs a year earlier.
TEU traffic through Riga increased by 18.2% year-on-year to
72,400 units. Tallinn posted a 20.7% rise to 37,100 and Liepaja saw TEU traffic
grow by 42.5% to 510 units.
Annual TEU traffic via Klaipeda went up by 12.9% in 2016
compared with 2015 to reach 443,300 units.
