Rokiskio Suris, a leading Lithuanian dairy group, this week is launching lactose exports to China in what will be the second shipment of dairy products from Lithuania after Vilkyskiu Pienine in mid-January exported some mozzarella to the Asian country, reports LETA/BNS.

"The first batch of 100 tons of our lactose on Mar. 18 is departing from the port of Klaipeda for a trip to the Chinese port of Dalian," told Dalius Trumpa, chairman of the management board at Rokiskio Suris.

"We have a contract with a direct buyer that will use our product as an ingredient in its production. These will be products for their local market. We have contracted to send a total of 300 tons of lactose over a period of two months," he said.
