Baltic sales of Finland’s Hesburger fast food chain reach EUR 58 mln in 2016

Sales of the Finnish-owned fast food chain Hesburger in the Baltic states reached EUR 58 mln in 2016, the company announced LETA/BNS.

Sales in Latvia grew 10.6%  from 2015 to EUR 19.8 mln in 2016, sales in Estonia were up 7% to EUR 20.3 mln but the steepest growth was recorded in Lithuania were sales rose 25.5% year-on-year to EUR 17.9 mln.


Ieva Salmela, Hesburger's Development Director in the Baltic states, said that the 2016 results were good. Several factors contributed to the growth of Baltic sales last year, including opening of new restaurants, expansion of the product range and promotional campaigns.


This year Hesburger will continue expanding its fast food restaurant chain, opening nine new restaurants in the Baltic states, including two in Latvia. Investments in Latvia are planned around EUR 3 mln, while EUR 4 mln will be invested in new restaurants in Lithuania and EUR 3 million in Estonia.


At present there are 133 Hesburger restaurants in the three Baltic states, including 45 in Latvia.


Hesburger is the largest Finnish fast food chain running fast food restaurants in Finland, the Baltic states, Germany, Russia and Turkey.


According to Firmas.lv business information website, the Hesburger chain in Latvia is run by 36 companies owned by Rigaburger, which in turn belongs to Finland's Hes-Pro (Finland).
