Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai (Lithuanian Railways) will cooperate with Poland's OT Logistics, one of Europe's biggest logistic companies, writes LETA/BNS.

"Cooperation with the Polish logistic company opens up new opportunities both for our customers and for OT Logistics customers not only to reach new destinations, but also to use alternative routes," Mantas Bartuska, CEO of the state railway company, said in a press release on Tuesday.

OT Logistics handles 12 mln tons of freight annually.

Lietuvos Gelezinkeliai in 2011 signed a freight forwarding agreement with the Polish unit of Germany's DB Schenker. Last year, it signed similar agreements with Turkey's Ozsoy Group, Russia's Eurosib SPb-Transportation Systems, Denmark's Maersk Line, Germany's DB Cargo and Kazakhstan's KTZ Express.
