Tallink's ferry Romantica will return to the Riga-Stockholm route in December

BC, Tallinn, 12.09.2016.Print version
The listed Estonian shipper Tallink Grupp announced that its cruise ferry Baltic Queen, which currently runs on the Tallinn-Helsinki route, will in December return to the Tallinn-Stockholm route, replacing the ferry Romantika which in turn will return to the Riga-Stockholm route, reports LETA/BNS.

The Tallinn-Helsinki route will be served with the renovated cruise ferry Silja Europa and two fast ferries, the company said.

According to Tallink Grupp's sales and marketing director Margus Hunt, the company has begun to prepare reorganizations to further improve service quality on three of its cruise routes. Changes in vessels used to serve one or another route and refreshment of on-board concepts are always met with interest and excitement, he observed.

The Silja Europa has already been withdrawn from the Tallinn-Helsinki route for refurbishment of the passenger area and will according to preliminary plans return on Dec. 12. The Baltic Queen will replace the Romantika on the Tallinn-Stockholm route on Dec. 13. The Romantika will on Dec. 12 start running between Riga and Stockholm, which will markedly increase capacity on the route.

The timetables will not change. The Silja Europa and the Baltic Queen will be sailing under the Estonian flag while the Romantika is to be taken under the Latvian flag in the near future.

Completed in 2009, the Baltic Queen is Tallink's newest cruise ferry.
