Finland's Hesburger fast food chain to open new restaurant complex in Riga this week

Finnish fast food chain Hesburger is due to open its new restaurant complex on Krasta Street in Riga this weekend, the company's representatives informed, cites LETA.

The opening event is scheduled for this Saturday, September 3.


Participating in the opening event will be Hesburger CEO Kari Salmela, Development Director for the Baltic countries Ieva Salmela and Finland's Ambassador to Latvia Olli Kantanen.


The new Hesburger complex is a three-floor building with a recreation area and a terrace on the second floor, as well as children's playground on the first floor of the building. The total floor space of the complex in 662.6 square meters. The project's costs are planed at EUR 2.5 mln, according to earlier estimates.


As reported, Hesburger raised turnover in the Baltic states by 7.4% y-o-y to EUR 48 mln in 2014. Of this amount, EUR 17.5 mln were generated in Latvia, EUR 11.9 mln in Lithuania and EUR 18.6 mln in Estonia.


Hesburger is the largest Finnish fast food chain running fast food restaurants in Finland, Germany, Russia, Turkey and the Baltic states.


The Hesburger chain in Latvia is run by more than 30 companies, owned by Rigaburger, which in turn belongs to Finland's Hes-Pro (Finland) Oy.
