In April, the volume of industrial production in Estonia grew by 1% y-o-y

In April, manufacturing production increased 1% compared to April 2015. The production growth was broad-based – in April, production surpassed the volume of the previous year in more than a half of the branches of industry. The growth in production was mostly due to an increase in the manufacture of wood, electrical equipment, electronic and metal products.
70% of the whole production of manufacturing was sold on the external market in April. According to unadjusted data, the export sales of manufacturing production rose 1% and domestic sales 3% compared to April 2015.
In April 2016 compared to the previous month, the seasonally adjusted total industrial production rose 6%; production in manufacturing increased 2%.
Compared to April 2015, the production of electricity increased 9% and the production of heat decreased 1%.

The statistics are based on the questionnaires “Industry”, the submission date of which was 15.05.2016, and “Energy production, sales and fuel consumption”, the submission date of which was 10.05.2016. Statistics Estonia published the monthly overview in 11 working days.
