In 4 months, new car sales in Estonia climb by 11.6%

The number of new cars sold in Estonia in April 2016 was 2,134, which is 7.6% more than in the same month last year, the association of Estonian car dealers and service companies AMTEL said, cites LETA/BNS.

In the first four months of the year, 7,562 new cars were sold in Estonia, 11.6% more than in the same period last year.

 

Small medium cars were the best-selling segment in April, amounting to 26.6% of all new cars sold. During the month 151 cars were exported from Estonia.

 

The list of carmakers was again topped by Toyota with 323 new cars sold, followed by Skoda and Volkswagen with respectively 237 and 187 units. The top three of models was made up of Skoda Octavia with 104 units, Nissan Qashqai with 90 units and Volkswagen Passat with 85 units. In addition, two new electric cars were sold in March.

 

Sales of utility vehicles remained increased 14.5% on year in April and a total of 465 new utility vehicles were sold. The top-selling brands were Peugeot with 70 units, followed by Renault with 56 and Renault with 49 units.

 

The truck segment was topped by Volvo, Scania and Mercedes-Benz with respectively 27, 22 and 16 trucks sold.
