EUR 51.6 mln available for Latvia-Lithuania cooperation projects from ERDF

There are EUR 51.6 million of funding available for Latvia-Lithuania cooperation projects from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the Latvian Ministry for Environment and Regional Development announced LETA.

The first call for proposals under the Interreg V-A Latvia-Lithuania 2014-2020 programme opened on April 29 and will close on August 5. The program has four priorities: sustainable and clean environment through cooperation; support to labor mobility and employment; social inclusion as a precondition to territorial development; and improved quality of living through efficient public services and administration.

 

National, regional and local public authorities as well as public equivalent bodies and NGOs can apply for the ERDF financing in cross-border partnerships. The eligible programme territories are Klaipeda,Telsai, Siauliai, Penevezys, Utena and Kaunas counties in Lithuania and Kurzeme, Zemgale, Latgale regions in Latvia.

 

The financing will be allocated to projects contributing to the programme objectives. The eligible project activities will be co-financed by the ERDF at the rate of
