Tallink carries 3.3% more passengers in January

The listed Estonian shipper Tallink Grupp carried 556,750 passengers in January, 3.3% more than in the same month a year ago, informs LETA/BNS.

The carriage of trucks and trailers increased 3.2% to 24,455 units and the number of carried passenger vehicles increased 1.1% to 68,765, Tallink told the stock exchange.

 

The number of passengers grew 6.6% in annual comparison, to 293,142, on the Estonia-Finland route and was up 6.7% at 68,899 on the Estonia-Sweden route. The number of passengers on the Finland-Sweden route decreased 0.9% to 164,492 and on the Latvia-Sweden route a drop of 9.4% to 30,217 passengers was recorded.

 

The cruise ferry Silja Symphony did not operate on the Finland-Sweden route for 14 days in January due to scheduled maintenance. On the Estonia-Finland route the shuttle vessel Star did not operate for seven days due to scheduled maintenance.

 

Cargo carriage grew on all routes save for Latvia-Sweden, where it dropped by 566 units to 547 units. On the Finland-Sweden route carriage of cargoes was up 2.5% at 5,543 units, on the Estonia-Finland routes it was up 3.7% at 15,195 units and on the Estonia-Sweden route it grew 3.1% to 3,170 units.

 

The number of cars carried grew 0.4% on the Estonia-Finland route to 51,987 units, was up 6.5% on the Finland-Sweden route at 7,478 units and up 7.3% on the Estonia-Sweden route at 5,247 units. On the Latvia-Sweden route 4,053 cars or 6.6% fewer than in the same month a year ago were carried.
