Lithuania's mobile phone operator Omnitel in 2015 posted 137 million euros in revenue, a rise of 7.2% from 127.8 million euros in 2014, informs LETA/BNS.

The company's fourth-quarter revenue rose by 8.5% year-on-year to 37.5 million euros.

"Omnitel's results in 2015 were really good. Omnitel's team at the start of last year spoke about bottoming out and now, with the year over, we can see this very clearly," Kestutis Sliuzas, CEO of both Teo LT, which acquired the mobile operator in early January, and Omnitel said at a news conference on Friday.

Omnitel's full-year service revenue increased by 6% to 96.9 million euros. EBITDA grew by 13% to 31.7 million euros and the EBITDA margin was up by 1.1%age points to 23.1%.

Sliuzas said Omnitel's revenue growth had been driven by increasing mobile Internet usage.

"The 4G coverage offered by the company encourages the use of mobile Internet. Average data usage per customer currently amounts to 2.59 gigabytes per month. The 4G network accounted for almost 60% of all data traffic in the fourth quarter of last year, compared with a mere 25% in the fourth quarter of 2014," he said.
