HCL Technologies, a leading global IT services provider with annual turnover of 6.1 billion dollars, on December 3rd is opening a development center in Estonia, reports LETA/BNS.

HCL Technologies, the first Indian-origin IT company in Estonia, is one of the world's largest tech companies and one of the eight that earned a net profit of more than one billion dollars last year. The company's market capitalization exceeds 15 billion dollars.

HCL Technologies that on Thursday opened a development center in the Estonian capital Tallinn plans to have a workforce of 100 by the end of next year.

The Tallinn center will cater to the group's customers across continental Europe and will become a key hub in HCL's global delivery network, the company said in a press release.

HCL chose Tallinn to expand its footprint in the Baltics as the region offers a highly-skilled talent pool and its close proximity to Finland and the rest of the Nordic countries allows convenient access all across northern Europe and Benelux.

Rahul Singh, HCL Technologies president for financial services, said the newly-opened center in Tallinn is the group's ninth delivery center in Europe. "This gives us a robust network to provide seamless flow of work for our customers. We are excited to be in Tallinn and look forward to building on our delivery capabilities and providing greater value to our clients."

The group has more than 105,000 employees in 31 countries.

The new development center in Tallinn will mainly focus on serving financial sector customers in the Nordic and Benelux countries.
