Cruise season 2015 in Kaipeda Port was marked by a smile and one more new record

This cruise ship brought 1186 passengers to Klaipeda Seaport.
Last year Klaipeda Seaport accommodated 63 cruise ships with 57 797 our town quests on board.
This year the Seaport received 51 vessel and 60 202 passengers. This number of passengers exceeds the number of passengers calling the Seaport within the entire period of previous years. 671 thou.euros of port dues were collected during this cruise season– this amount accounted for 1,5% of all port dues.
This year the record – breaker cruise ship „Celebrity Eclipse“ (317 metres in length) – the longest cruise ship within the entire history of the Port – called the Seaport of Klaipeda. It may be forecasted that the record of the longest cruise ship should be improved the next year. Next year Klaipeda Seaport is planning to receive the 319 metres in length cruise ship „Celebrity Silhouette“ on the 5th of June.
Last year Klaipeda State Seaport Authority allotted 34 thou. euros to cruise shipping marketing, this year 57,8 thou. euros have been allotted.
