Klaipedos Nafta to invest EUR 40 mln in new infrastructure

BC, Vilnius, 03.08.2015.Print version
Klaipedos Nafta, the operator of the Klaipeda Oil Terminal based in Klaipeda, is planning to invest around EUR 9.5 million in the expansion of the oil terminal's infrastructure, while investment in a new over ground liquefied natural gas (LNG) distribution station investment project will seek EUR 27 million, reports LETA/ELTA.

"Expansion and new services will make the terminal more attractive and efficient in the region since our goal is to be the main terminal, through which Belarusian oil products are exported," said Mantas Bartuska, head of Klaipedos Nafta.

The company will make investments from its own funds and loans, as well as from the EU funds.

In mid-July, the European Commission announced about plans to give over EUR 10 million for investments in LNG infrastructure projects in the Baltic Sea region. The first payment from the EU is expected this October.

Construction of the LNG station in Klaipeda is planned to be completed in early 2017.
