FBO RIGA, a certified ground handling agent in Riga International Airport, records business aviation traffic growth, including state aviation flights, in Riga International Airport (RIX) in February-March 2015. Among the factors, stimulating business aviation traffic in the country is Latvian presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU) that started January 1, 2015.

In February 2015, the total number of business aviation flights to/from RIX handled by FBO RIGA rose by 21% while the number of VIP passengers surged by 62% compared to company’s results in the year-ago period. In March, the total number of VIP passengers handled by FBO RIGA climbed by 30% compared to the same month last year. Most of the flights were from Belgium, Spain, Italy, Germany and Netherlands.

In the face of the soared demand for ground handling in RIX, FBO RIGA has proved its status of a reliable partner providing on-time high quality services for business aviation flights and VIP passengers.

“We are proud that FBO RIGA has won the trust of discerning customers from Europe and CIS region as a reliable ground handling partner in Riga International Airport. We have worked hard to be fully prepared for the significant growth of business aviation traffic during Latvian presidency of the Council of the EU and are very glad with the first results. In our work, we focus on exceptional safety, quality and comfort and will make every effort to exceed the expectations of our customers. With the opening of our new Business Aviation Center in RIX we will contribute to the development of business aviation segment in the region by extending cooperation with our existing customers and attracting new businesses to Riga Airport”, said Roman Starkov and Leonid Gorodnitski, the owners of FBO RIGA.

FBO RIGA has been operating at Riga International Airport since 2000 providing a full scope of services for business aviation. Presently FBO RIGA is using RIX VIP Center for passenger handling while a new business aviation complex is under construction. The grand opening of the FBO RIGA Business Aviation Center in Riga International Airport, which will be the biggest one in the Baltic region, will take place in August 2015.
