Wizz Air opens flights from Riga to Lübeck

Wizz Air, the largest budget airline in Central and Eastern Europe, from 24 April 2015 opens flights from Riga International Airport to Lübeck (Germany), reports BC airport’s press service.

Flights on the route Riga – Lübeck – Riga from April 24 will take place twice a week – on Mondays and Fridays – whereas starting from 3 June the flights will be scheduled for Wednesdays and Sundays. The carrier will perform the flights on the aircraft Airbus A320. 

 

The first flight was celebrated with a special cake in the form of a marzipan heart symbolizing famous Lübeck’s marzipan industry. According to a local legend, for the first time marzipan was made in Lübeck.

Opening of the flight was attended by: Ewa Danecka-Latka, Head of Wizz Air Riga Base, Liene Freivalde, director of Aviation services Department, Riga International Airport, and Baiba Tiltina, Senior Cabin Attendant.
