3 new airlines come to Riga Airport in the summer season
The
member of Star Alliance SAS will
commence flights from Stockholm to Riga International Airport on 29 March,
performing 18 flights a week.
The first flight of Ukraine International
Airlines from Kiev to Riga will take place on 30 March; the airline will
operate seven flights a week.
Swiss International Air Lines,
another Star Alliance member, starting from 31 March, will connect Zurich with
Riga three times per week.
The Latvian national carrier airBaltic
in the summer season will open five new destinations: to Aalborg, Dubrovnik,
Rhodes, Thessaloniki and Pisa.
The budget airline Wizz Air in April
will expand its base in Riga by adding the second aircraft. It will also open
three new destinations: Stavanger, Lübeck and Liverpool and increase frequency
of flights on the existing routes.
Overall, in the summer season from Riga International Airport passengers will
be able to reach 87 destinations operated by 21 carriers: airBaltic, Aeroflot, Belavia, Brussels Airlines, Ellinair, Finnair,
LOT, Lufthansa, Nesma Airlines, Norwegian, Uzbekistan Airways, Ryanair,
Transaero, Turkish Airlines, Turkmenistan Airlines, Ukraine International
Airlines, Onur Air, SAS, Swiss International Air Lines, Wizz Air, Smartlynx.
