Latvians invest 31 mln euros in Estonian Kohila Plywood Factory

Latvian company Latvijas Finieris-owned Kohila Vineer OÜ has ordered nearly 31 mln euros worth of equipment from the Finnish timber industry equipment producer Raute OY, in order to expand the Estonian plywood factory, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

Raute informed the Helsinki Stock Exchange that the order includes drying, assembly, linking lines as well as pressure, sawing, sanding lines and equipment for recycling timber waste. The equipment will be delivered to Kohila during this year, the expansion will be operational next year.

 

The expanded Kohila plywood factory production capacity will be 45,000 cubic meters per year.

 

Latvian veneer producer Latvijas Finieris acquired from the SEB bank the bankrupt Baltic Panel Group veneer factory in Kohila, central Estonia, in May 2011.
