In 2014, number of tourists in Lithuanian hotels grew by 8.2%
The number of tourists from the EU countries totalled 126.3 thousand (by 1.4% more than in the same quarter of 2013), from non-EU countries – 144.2 thousand (by 0.9% more). The number of Lithuania's residents accommodated grew by 8.6% and totalled 230.6 thousand.
The majority of foreign tourists were from Belarus – 52.6 thousand (in IV quarter 2013, 52.7 thousand), Russia – 44.3 thousand (in IV quarter 2013, 55.2 thousand), Latvia – 27.1 thousand (in IV quarter 2013, 21 thousand), Poland – 21.9 thousand (in IV quarter 2013, 21.6 thousand), Germany – 16.2 thousand (in IV quarter 2013, 17 thousand), Ukraine – 12.8 thousand (in IV quarter 2013, 8.7 thousand), the United Kingdom – 10.4 thousand (in IV quarter 2013, 8.7 thousand), Estonia – 10.2 thousand (in IV quarter 2013, 9.5 thousand), and Norway – 10 thousand (in IV quarter 2013, 7.2 thousand). More than half of foreign tourists – 63.7% – stayed in Vilnius.
Almost a quarter (24%) of tourists stayed in the accommodation establishments of resort towns: Druskininkai – 75.9 thousand (by 9.5% more than in IV quarter 2013), Palanga – 31 thousand (by 21.6% more), Birštonas – 11.5 thousand (by 14.8% more), Neringa – 2 thousand (by 25.6% less).
In 2014, accommodation establishments received 2.4 million tourists, or by 8.2% more than in 2013; the number of foreign tourists amounted to 1.3 million (by 7.7% more).

In IV quarter 2014, compared to IV quarter of 2013, Lithuanian hotels and motels accommodated by 4.4% more tourists; the number of Lithuanian's residents accommodated increased by 10.9%, while the number of foreigners accommodated remained almost the same as in IV quarter 2013. The number of rooms in hotels and motels totalled 13.5 thousand (in IV quarter 2013, 13.2 thousand), that of beds – 27.8 thousand (in IV quarter 2013, 27.1 thousand). The hotel and motel room occupancy rate stood at 44.2% (in IV quarter 2013, 44.2%), the bed occupancy rate – at 32.3% (in IV quarter 2013, 33.2%).
In IV quarter 2014, Vilnius hotels and motels accommodated 199.9 thousand tourists, which is by 0.5% more than in IV quarter 2013; the number of foreign tourists amounted to 159.7 thousand, or by 1.9% less.
In 2014, hotels and motels received 1.9 million tourists, or by 7.4% more than in the same period of 2013; the number of foreigners amounted to 1.2 million (by 6.2% more). The hotel and motel room occupancy rate stood at 48.7% (in 2013, 47.9%), the bed occupancy rate – at 37.1% (in 2013, 36.8%).

Accommodation establishment refers to a local kind-of-activity unit providing paid short-stay accommodation services and facilities to satisfy overnight accommodation and hygienic needs.
Number of tourists accommodated includes Lithuanian residents and foreign visitors with at least one overnight stay in an accommodation establishment.
