BC, Riga, 24.02.2015.Print version
GEFCO Ukraine recently fulfilled a request for ArcelorMittal, the world's leading steel producer, for the delivery of over 170 tonnes of material from China to the Kryvyi Rih plant in the centre of the country. The transport had to be carried out within the shortest possible time frame in order to ensure the continued operation of a blast furnace in the Kryvyi Rih steel plant, reports BC Dita Bukovska from Gefco in Latvia.

The multimodal solution provided by GEFCO included the air shipment of large parts from China to the European airports of Luxembourg and Amsterdam. GEFCO then oversaw the road transport to the ArcelorMittal plant in just 18 days.

"The confidence shown by ArcelorMittal is a perfect example of the added value of our multimodal offer. GEFCO provides its customers with an exemplary service in terms of quality, cost and lead times, allowing them to optimise their operations and subsequently increase their productivity" emphasises Lyudmyla Mukhina, Sales Manager for GEFCO Ukraine.
