Estonia’s honorary consuls from around the world to convene in Tallinn

Estonia’s honorary consuls from various places around the world will take part in the seventh conference in Tallinn from Wednesday to Friday, reports LETA, referring to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The honorary consuls will meet with President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas, Minister of Foreign Affairs Urmas Paet and Minister of Foreign Trade and Enterprise Anne Sulling. Diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will give presentations at the conference, focussing on foreign policy and consular affairs.

 

Honorary consuls will also meet with representatives of the Bank of Estonia, the Government Office and of the foundation Enterprise Estonia. They will also visit the Tõravere Observatory in the Tartu County and will be taken to trips to the Võru County and the Seto Region, where they will learn about local businesses, the County Vocational Education Centre and the Kuperjanovi Infantry Battalion, and will visit numerous places of interest in the area.

 

Estonia has appointed a total of 186 honorary consuls in 82 countries. A total of 113 honorary consuls will take part in the conference and related activities this week.
