Belarusian-Latvian International Investment Forum “Baltic Region 2012” to take place in December

The VIth International Belarusian-Latvian Investment Forum “Baltic Region 2012” will take place in Riga on December 6, 2012. The Forum will be held as a part of IXth National Exhibition of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Latvia “BelarusEXPO-2012” (December 6-9, 2012) and will be followed by the matchmaking event as well as the seminar on the regulation of foreign economic activity in the framework of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, both planned to be held at Kipsala (Riga) on December, 7.

Venue of the Forum – Kipsala International Exhibition Center (Kipsalas street, 8, Riga, Latvia).

 

Official opening of the event is to be held on December 6, at 10:30.

 

The Forum is primarily focused on business representatives from the Baltic Sea countries (Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Sweden, Finland, etc.).

Plenary session “New Realities and Perspectives of Investment Activity in the Republic of Belarus”

 

Main focus of reports is economic liberalization and perspectives of investment activity in the Republic of Belarus, new possibilities of business cooperation taking into account the economic reality of functioning of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia.

 

Section 1. Expansion of interregional ties, trade and economic cooperation

The interested representatives of ministries and concerns, associations and trade unions, free economic zones, companies, commodity distribution network objects, forwarding companies, sales companies, dealer trade networks are invited to participate.

 

The Belarusian regional and branch investment programmes and projects in the field of energy, construction, science and technology will be presented. The discussion of the issues of new technology implementation in the above-mentioned fields, the exchange of experience and advanced technologies in the field of energy effeciency, innovation implementation will take place.

 

The new possibilities of expansion of interregional ties of business cooperation will be discussed taking into account new economic reality of the Common Economic Space of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia.

 

Section 2. Cooperation in the field of transport and logistics

The importance of transit routes development Belarus – Latvia, the make use of transit advantages of the Baltic Sea region will be presented. The potential to increase the cargo transportation volume by railway and auto transport, the role of container train ZUBR in the development of land transport will be discussed.

 

The proposals for implementation of projects of logistics infrastructure development in Latvian ports with participation of Belarus, the perspectives and modern formation of effective transport logistics system with delivery under FOB and CIF terms will be discussed.

 

The reports and presentations of the representatives of transport departments, logistic structures, associations of road carriers, cargo suppliers and trading structures will take place.

 

The representatives of the Ministries of Transport of member-states, transport and logistics, stevedoring, forwarding companies, the representatives of interested Belarusian companies, scientists in the field of transport, the representatives of commodity distribution network are invited to participate.

 

Section 3. Cooperation in credit and financial sphere, promotion of developing investment processes, investments in innovative technologies development

In the frameworks of this section the reports and exchange of opinions about the trends and the results of development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in credit and financial sphere, about the state and assessment of perspectives of developing financial services market of the Republic of Belarus in different segments (insurance, commercial real estate, leasing and others) will be presented.

 

Presentations of Belarusian regional and branch investment programs and projects in the field of industry, agriculture, energy, construction, scientific research and elaborations, the exchange of opinions and advanced technologies in the sphere of energy efficiency, innovation implementation will take place.

 

Representatives of the Ministries of economy, education, educational and scientific institutions of member states, national and commercial banks, leasing companies and other financial and credit institutions and funds are invited to participate.
