Print versionVilnius is hosting on Thursday the annual Forum of Regions, a platform for discussions on key regional policy and local government development issues, reports LETA/BNS.

This year's event focuses on strengthening the autonomy of local governments.
The forum participants' include President Gitanas Nauseda, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis and Viktoras Pranckietis, the speaker of the Seimas, as well as ministerial officials, and members of political parties and the European Parliament's Committee on Regional Development.
The forum's keynote speaker is Hansjoerg Bloechliger, an economist at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and a decentralization expert.
