Bas Lansdorp to speak at Vilnius Innovation Forum 2015

Among other speakers, Dutch entrepreneur Bas Lansdorp, who is planning space missions to Mars, will be attending the forum Innovation Drift as part of Vilnius Innovation Forum (VIF) 2015 in early September in Lithuania's capital, reports LETA/ELTA.

The goal of Lansdorp's company Mars One is not only to bring humans to Mars but also establish a human colony on the Red Planet.

 

"The unique idea of the Mars One project not only astounds with its scope but also proves that everything is possible in the high-tech world. I believe that Bas Lansdorp's insights will encourage many participants of the VIF to come forward with their unusual ideas and skills," says Lithuanian Economy Minister Evaldas Gustas.

 

VIF is the biggest high-level meeting at the Baltics aimed at bringing together entrepreneurs, business and public policy decision makers, scientists and researchers to discuss the state of innovation in Europe and beyond.

 

Organised for the second time, the event is a unique opportunity to share ideas and get insights from the leading innovative thinkers from around the globe. This year, the event on 3-4 September in Vilnius will be attended by Bas Lansdorp (CEO of Mars One), Kevin Eyers (former managing director at LinkedIn), Sergio Bertolucci (director of research at CERN), Danil Kerimi (head of ICT programs at World Economic Forum) and many others. The topic of VIF 2015 is the Future.

 

Apart from the two-day conference with more than 30 inspiring speakers, VIF 2015 will also offer various workshops, science and technology exhibition Innovation Fair and international partnership event. All of them are free of charge.

 

VIF is organised by the Ministry of Economy of Lithuania and the Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITAVIF 2015 is funded from the European Regional Development Fund.
