Bank Snoras bankruptcy administrator may not be off the hook yet

BC, Vilnius, 17.09.2014.Print version
Prosecutor General Darius Valys instructed a senior prosecutor to verify whether a decision made by Vilnius Regional Prosecutor's Office to terminate the case against Bank Snoras bankruptcy administrator Neil Cooper was justified, informs LETA/ELTA.

The Seimas was informed about this by the prosecutor general on Tuesday, when he was answering questions over why the investigation into the bankruptcy administrator's actions was discontinued, reports website vz.lt.

The head of the prosecution only gave a brief explanation that "A prosecutor of the Division of Organised Crime and Corruption Investigation of the Prosecutor General's Office was assigned to investigate if the decision to discontinue the case was justified."

Valys issued no comments neither about the progress of the inquiry nor about the circumstances of the termination of the case, saying that any statement would be interpreted as pressure on the prosecutor who is conducting the inquiry.
