Insurance company ERGO closes 18 offices and makes nearly fifty people redundant in Estonia in the course of its spring-summer sales network reform, Äripäev Online reports.

The main reason for the sales network reform is changed expectations and needs of clients and optimising operating costs, the company said. ERGO submitted on Thursday an application to the Unemployment Insurance Fund for collective redundancies concerning 46 sales specialists. This is the maximum amount and may turn out to be smaller after talks with employees are held, ERGO board member Maarika Liivamägi said.

She said that during the reform that started in spring, the number of sales organisation mid-level managers was reduced by a half, in the coming month, the nimbler of sales specialists in offices will be reduced.
