Print versionInsurance companies ascertained 327 insurance fraud cases in Estonia in 2011 while 1.88 million euros worth of fraud was prevented with the help of preventive measures, LETA/National Broadcasting reports.

This forms around 1.5% of all loss insurance compensations, Estonian Insurance Companies Association announced.
69% of the frauds were connected to traffic (40%) and vehicle insurance (29%). This is due to the fact that these insurance types are the most widespread in Estonia. Fraud connected to property and traffic insurance grew and formed 10% and 16% of total number of fraud cases.
