Lithuania's central government deficit stood at 1.172 billion euros in January-June 2020, up from 1.347 billion euros a year ago, the Finance Ministry said on June 29th, cites LETA/BNS.
The central government's revenue amounted to 5.315 billion euros, and expenses stood at 6.364 billion euros.
Taxes accounted for 53.3 percent of the central government's revenue, and social contributions stood at 36.4 percent.
Social payouts (58.2 percent), grants (12.8 percent), wages and social insurance (11.4 percent) accounted for the biggest part of expenses in January-May.
In May alone, the central government revenue stood at 1.075 billion euros, and expenses totaled 1,493 billion euros, leading to a deficit of 468.8 million euros.
