Market value of Estonia's stabilization reserve grows to EUR 412.9 mln at end-June

As at the end of June 2017, the market value of the Estonian stabilization reserve was 412.9 million euros, while at the same time in 2016 the reserve's value was 406.2 million euros, informs LETA/BNS.
Assets of the reserve grew by 7.9 million euros in the second quarter, most
of which came from the profit distribution of the Bank of Estonia, spokespeople
for the government said.
In the environment of negative interest rates the profitability of the
reserve in the second quarter was -0.39% and profitability since the start of
the year -0.43%.
Assets of the reserve are mainly invested in very low risk European Union
government bonds and in bonds and deposits of credit institutions.
The stabilization reserve was created in 1997 in the amount of 44.84
million euros to reduce general economic risks.
