Latvian leasing, factoring portfolio grows by 9.8% in 2015

The Latvian leasing and factoring portfolio grew by 9.8% in 2015 to EUR 1.356 billion at the end of the year, the Latvian Association of Leasing Providers said, cites LETA.

The leasing portfolio rose by 7.4% from late 2014, reaching EUR 1.204 billion at the end of 2015, and the factoring portfolio increased by 33% to EUR 152.046 million.

 

The finance leasing portfolio grew by 6.6% from the end of 2014 to EUR 942.13 million at the end of 2015, and operating leasing amounted to EUR 261.537 million, up 10.4% from the end of 2014.

 

The amount of new leasing deals concluded in 2015 increased 28.5% year-on-year to EUR 682.261 million, as new finance leasing deals rose 29.1% to EUR 552.997 million and new operating lease deals rose 26.1% to EUR 129.264 million.

 

Car lease deals made up 49% of the new leasing deals in 2015, and their total value grew 30.7% year-on-year to EUR 333.622 million. Equipment leasing followed with EUR 181.23 million (27 pct) worth of new deals, up 32.1%, and commercial transport leasing with EUR 126.362 million (19 pct), which was a 19.3% growth year-on-year.

 

During 2014, Latvia's leasing and factoring portfolio increased by 0.2% to EUR 1.235 billion.

 

The Latvian Association of Leasing Providers, established in 2000, unites the largest leasing providers registered and operating in Latvia. The association's members are Swedbank Lizings, Nordea Finance Latvia, SEB Lizings, UniCredit Leasing, Pohjola Finance, PrivatLizings, DNB Lizings, Citadele Lizings un Faktorings and LKB Lizings.
