2-month limit introduced for work on draft regulations related to absorption of EU funds in Latvia

BC, Riga, 06.04.2016.Print version
Any draft regulations related to absorption of EU funds will have to be prepared for submission to the Latvian government in two months at most, informs LETA.

The restriction is intended to preclude any further delays in adoption of regulations related to absorption of EU funds.

Latvian Prime Minister Maris Kucinskis (Greens/Farmers) today issued a decree to the ministers, telling them that any draft regulations related to absorption of EU funds have to be put before the Cabinet of Ministers no later than two months after presentation of the draft document at the meeting of state secretaries.

The purpose of the decree is to boost the economic growth and to speed up the influx of the money from the EU structural funds in the national economy.
