Latvian CabMin way behind schedule in adopting measures required to gain access to EU funding

BC, Riga, 06.11.2015.Print version
Armands Eberhards, the finance ministry's assistant state secretary, revealed to LETA today that out of 81 Cabinet regulations that must be in place and enforced by December to qualify for European Union funding in the new planning period, the government has at this time reviewed 50 and approved only 26.

The reviewing is specifically done during meetings of the state secretaries.

Eberhards reported that the coalition task force dealing with EU structural funding was unanimous yesterday in declaring that the whole process must be accelerated to push through the remaining regulations. The meeting also focused on making communication between ministries and entities involved smoother.
