BC, Tallinn, 20.02.2015.Print version
Via the European Central Bank (ECB) Securities Markets Programme, Eesti Pank's risk associated with Greek bonds is in the volume of 54.2 million euros, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

According to the ECB's latest financial report, the Securities Markets Programme portfolio includes 19.8 billion euros worth of Greek bonds.

"Eesti Pank itself has not bought Greek bonds. But Eesti Pank indirectly owns Greek government bonds since central banks of the euro area share, as a rule, revenues as well as risks connected to monetary policy, and the securities market program was a part of the monetary policy of euro area central banks," Eesti Pank said.

Based on ECB capital key, which for Eesti Pank's is 0.274% starting this year, the volume of Eesti Pank risks connected to Greek bonds is 54.2 million euros.
