Estonian state collected 12.3 mln euros from selling land in 2014

The Estonian Land Board sold 2,798 hectares of land in 2014, yielding 12.3 million euros of income for the state budget, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

In 2013, the land board sold 6,137 hectares of land and earned 15.66 million euros. In 2012, it sold 14,793 hectares, which yielded 26.53 million euros to the state budget.

 

The Land Board held last year 710 auctions for immovables and concluded contracts on selling 527 immovables to private ownership.

 

A total of 381 profit yielding land units were sold, with the total area of 2,700 ha. Sales amounted to 6.76 million euros.

 

107 units of housing land was sold for a total of 2.73 million euros, and 22 units of commercial land for 1.8 million euros were sold. In addition, 1.52 mln euro worth of land intended for production and land with no assigned use were sold.

 

The average area of profit yielding land unit that was sold was 7.09 ha and the average sales price 2,500 euros per hectare.

 

This year's state budget prescribes that the Ministry of the Environment has an obligation to sell land for of 12 million euros.
