Klaipeda’s LNG terminal is operating flawlessly

After the first load of liquefied natural gas (LNG) was pumped into the LNG storage vessel Independence, the specialists stated that its systems operate flawlessly, reports LETA/ELTA.

Petroleum company Klaipedos Nafta has informed that around 100 thousand cubic metres of LNG was pumped into the storage vessel, the amount is approximately equal to 60 million cubic metres of natural gas. The cargo was transported to Klaipeda Seaport by LNG tanker Golar Seal on 28 October.

 

50 million cubic metres of the purchased 60 million cubic metres of gas will be transferred into the gas transmission system during testing. While the rest will be used to satisfy the terminal's technical needs.

 

LNG tanker Golar Seal brought LTL 500,000 (EUR 14,000) of revenue in levies that are calculated taking into consideration the size of the ship.
