There is a potential to improve conditions for Visaginas NPP

Having analyzed the conditions of the funding, the Lithuania's own capital's input in the project of the Visaginas nuclear power station (NPP), as compared to the primary calculations, could be reduced, informs LETA/ELTA.

"We see the potential to significantly improve the conditions for the project related to the future of the biggest nuclear power station. In order to achieve this, we have to work together with the companies on the intergovernmental level," said Minister of Energy Jaroslav Neverovich on Wednesday.

 

According to CEO at Lietuvos Energija Dalius Misiunas, having analysed the situation, it was found out that it was possible to improve the conditions for the funding.

 

"According to our calculations, the Lithuania's own capital's input in the project of the Visaginas nuclear power station (NPP), as compared to the primary calculations, could be significantly reduced," said Misiunas.

 

According to Misiunas, the 3 main aspects of the funding was changing – the conditions for the loan and the interest rates were improving and the Hitachi as the investor was transferring its part of the loan to other investor, so that it would improve its conditions.
